The deaths caused by COVID-19 were more than 900 thousand cases in the United States on Feb. 4th. How serious is the epidemic in the United States? The latest national wastewater sample test results are enough to reflect.
In order to understand the extent of the spread of COVID-19 in the United States, the CDC, during the 15 days from January 17th to 31st , asked more than 400 wastewater monitoring stations across the country to conduct daily COVID-19 monitoring of local public wastewater systems.
On 4 July, the CDC released the monitoring data at the press briefing. The results showed that during the 15 days, the waste water monitor system collected more than 34000 samples representing about 53 million Americans, of which 98% of the monitoring stations detected COVID-19 in all the samples collected.
